Carma Arlene Goodrich Mathews, age 87, of Altonah, returned home to our Heavenly Fathers arms on May 10, 2017, at the Uintah Basin Villa.
She was born August 4, 1929 in Bluebell to John and Rozella Hancock Goodrich. She married Fred Clair Mathews on August 4, 1952 in Ogden. Their marriage was solemnized December 15, 1952 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. He died May 11, 1996.
Carma was blessed with so many talents she was able to do almost anything. She was a great cook, a very good seamstress, could express herself well, loved music and was an excellent piano player. She loved quilting, crocheting and made each one of her kids and grandkids many quilts and doilies.
She was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints where she held many callings. She was a temple worker in both the Provo and Vernal Temple for many years, which she cherished.
She is survived by her children: Linda (Rodger) Ames, Altonah; Denise (Kirk) Christensen, Talmage; Kelly (Darlene) Mathews, Payson, Gary (Angie) Mathews, Mt. Emmons; Rose Ellen (Raymond) Zeeman, Talmage; 32 grandchildren, 67 great grandchildren a sister Ardis (Donald) Johnson, Lander, WY; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Fred, sons, Scott & Dell, grandson, Samuel Ruben Ames, great granddaughters, Madelyn Kiersten Hamilton and Brooklyn Alice Tait, brothers, Lloyd, Kenneth, Loren, Everett, & Clyde Goodrich; and a sister, Carolyn Miles.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, May 15, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. at the Moon Lake LDS Chapel. Viewings will be held at the church on Sunday evening from 5 -7 p.m. and Monday from 10:00 - 10:45a.m.
Burial in the Bluebell Cemetery.
